With a recent deal on Boerne Bucks, I have had the pleasure to meet a wonderful group of new clients. So much fun working with a bride to be on her wedding cake, which will be beautiful, helping to design a surprise cake for a 60 year old golf fanatic, getting the 411 on another last year contacted me to make some cookies for her precious 4 year old to give out aupcoming wedding(you know the food truck craze? somehow that's their theme), so gearing up to make cupcakes for the bridal shower. A lucky winner of free cupcakes from a drawing s her party favors(how deliciously fun is that?!?!) and there's a chocolate lover out there looking for some double chocolate cupcakes for an office birthday! A good friend and long time client is already planning end of year teacher gifts(stay tuned~~don't want to give away the surprise, just in case those teachers are reading)...... With all the fun and excitement this last week has brought about, I have been trying to figure out how to do my own children's birthday parties and of course, their cakes. My rockstar hubby(okay, he doesn't make a living singing or playing an instrument, but he's my rockstar) had a change of plans when his Army reserve unit decided to move drill weekend to the weekend I was planning to have my son's party, which threw off when I could have my daughter's party. Her birthday is 5 days after his.... So, family will come together on the kids' birthdays and we'll figure out when to get the friends together...There really is a cake/cupcake part, I promise....My son decided he wants "oreo cupcakes", or what most of us would call Cookies and Cream cupcakes, to enjoy on his actual birthday, then have a "really cool cake" when his friends can help celebrate....My daughter wants a Strawberry Shortcake cake for her birthday...will probably do cupcakes for her actual birthday, though.... I guess that's all for this week....Next week, I'll be working on finalizing my sponsorship and participation in a few 5k's through the Spring months, then Berges Fest will be here....who knows what the Summer will bring(aside from MY birthday!!!) Things have been excitedly busy around here! Thanks to a blog I read, Bake at 350, I have been making some super fun ShamRock cookies for friends to enjoy or give to others! So much so that I broke my Shamrock cookie cutter...anyone have a spare? I have a relatively large order to get started on tomorrow morning, but have had the hardest time finding a cookie cutter....Uh Oh!! I have a current deal on Boerne Bucks, so that's super exciting, as well! I'm looking forward to working with new and old clients with this great money saving opportunity for the community!! My two little ones have birthdays coming up very soon! Can't wait to make their birthday goodies! My little guy can't decide on a theme, but my little princess has decided on Strawberry Shortcake. Love!! Strawberry Shortcake was my favorite when I was younger, I had a full bedroom set all Strawberry Shortcake, the little kitchen...I had it all. So I'm loving that she does as well.... I'm revamping my website, so pictures will be back up as soon as the website cooperates with me!! Happy Spring Break!! |

The end of the school year is approaching! Some of your kiddos may be having parties to celebrate! I will be taking orders for School's OUT!! cupcakes and cakes. Father's Day is right around the corner as well....have many ideas for cakes to enjoy after Father's Day dinner! Be sure to contact me by June 13th to place your order! I will also be out at the Berges Fest VIP party with my cupcakes to help kick off the Boerne Berges Fest fun! Well, spring is always a busy time for me. This year proves no different. My son turns 5...by the way, he's decided he wants a Spider Man cake now...My daughter turns 2 less than a week later...She's still wanting a Dora cake. I'm very excited for Spring to come, celebrating my babies is a great way to get my favorite season started!! This year, I'm adding a Teddy Bear Picnic Birthday Cake for my little friend, Natalie. Then, I get to make a little 4" or 6" smash cake for a one year old'sphoto session at the studio where I work(www.shutter-happy.com). I also have my "of the month club" baking to finish for March. I am very excited for all this baking coming up and can't wait to share with all of you! I'm contemplating making up 500 coupons to be included in an upcoming event's goodie bags, but what to offer?!?!!? I have a day and a half to figure that out... That's all for tonight....would appreciate any feedback.... Ready to start filling my weeks with baking for April! ~~~Beth |

I have stumbled upon a great new cake and cupcake recipe to add to my list of favorites! Strawberry-lemonade cake(or cupcake) with fresh strawberry-lemonade buttercream! My children ate the cupcakes without the frosting and loved them! I ate one, as well, without the frosting....AMAZING!! I had the idea in my head for the cupcakes for my cupcake of the month club recipient. I wasn't sure how much of the strawberries to mix in for the buttercream, so did some research on line and found the perfect strawberry-lemonade buttercream recipe! Coming up this month for the family, and will be available for you to order after we taste-test......Cookie dough Cinnamon rolls.... I have a short time to decide 100% on my almost 2 year old and almost 5 year old's birthday cakes. I saw some really cute cupcakes to make for my little girl, but I think she might want a Dora cake, LOL. My little boy likes everything, so he can't make up his mind between another batman cake, a spiderman, darth vader, lego, transformer....you get the idea.... Had a delicious bite of a coconut pie that has inspired me to experiment with a coconut cream cupcake..... That's all for now...Happy Texas Independence Day! |

What a great year it has been already! I have finished baking the second round of jumbo chocolatey-chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream frosting and my special chocolate chip cookies, also JUMBO!! Since the shipping boxes didn't make it to my front door on time, round two had to happen! I can't wait to finish decorating the cupcakes and send the goodies on to their recipients. These were made special for two of my very lucky Cupcake and Cookie of the month club members! They received their membership as Christmas gifts and will be enjoying various cupcakes and cookies for 6 months!! Friday morning, I will begin baking the first birthday cake of 2011. A Lego cake for an extra special friend who will be turning 9! Will be adding in an extra little surprise for the kiddos at that party! (Thanks, Amy for the super cute idea!!) I am beginning to take those Valentine's Day orders! If you want cupcakes, mini cupcakes, JUMBO cupcakes, cookies, petits fours, a cake....Start sending me your details! So, I have a Buzz Lightyear cake coming up for a very fun family! I am especially excited about this cake and party. Why? Well, most importantly, I get to help the family out and make the little boy's eyes light up! Right behind that, it's to be delivered on the first day of the new year, my late grandfather's birthday, and my favorite day of the year! *sniff* Pictures will be posted as soon as the cake is ready to go! I am very excited about my upcoming orders! I have Star Wars sugar cookies to make for a birthday celebration this Tuesday! How fun is that? Then, I have an awesome Lego cake in January to do for a very special boy! I am also getting ready to start the holiday baking and creatingfor the family, a buttermilk pie this coming week, along with fudge and of course, sugar cookies for Santa! Then, some petit fours for a few special people towards the end of the week! Salted caramel cupcakes are on the board for family Christmas dinner! I can't wait! I will probably have to make some peppermint bark, because well, why not?! I hope everyone is having a great Christmas season!
