Thank you for expressing interest in joining the Junior Service League of Beaufort for the 2009-2010 League year. Since our inception in 2005, JSLB has touched the lives of thousands of women and children throughout the Beaufort community and we are thrilled that we have the opportunity to extend an invitation to have even more talented and compassionate women join our organization! As our mission states: “The Junior Service League of Beaufort is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism. Membership in the Junior Service League of Beaufort offers an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with others who share a desire to give back to our community. Through the talents of our diverse membership we will support and enrich the lives of women, children and families in our community. Together we have a greater impact than we do individually.” The 2009-2010 League Year marks our Fifth Anniversary and we have planned several special events to commemorate this milestone. Our members have worked tirelessly to improve the lives of women, children, and families Beaufort County. Over the past five years we have been quite productive, and our dedication to civic service has touched organizations such as The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry, The Little Red Dog Foundation, Hope Haven, YMCA of Beaufort County, Lowcountry Blood Alliance, to name only a few! Joining JSLB will give you the opportunity to pursue interests outside your home and your career, and the skills and training that you acquire by being a member will benefit you even outside of JSLB. There is also the potential to develop lifelong friendships with like-minded women who share the desire to make a difference in this community. By becoming a member of the Junior Service League of Beaufort you are showing your devotion to the welfare of women, children, and families in our community. The current membership can attest to the personal fulfillment that is gained by volunteering and contributing to positive change in our community. MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS: • You must perform 50 hours of community service throughout the League Year. • You must attend 5 of the 9 membership meetings held on the first Monday of each month. • You must pay your new membership dues at the time of application. Membership application are accepted during the summer months through August. Once the League year begins in September, our roster is complete for the year until May.
